Concept

Markets tend to react at previous highs and lows, which serve as psychological support and resistance levels.

Idea

The strategy checks whether price has already moved a minimum distance away from the recent lowest low or highest high within a lookback period. A long setup means price has bounced off recent support and is now trading above it by at least the configured threshold. A short setup means price has rejected from recent resistance and is now trading below it by at least the configured threshold.

Genetic Algorithm Parameters

• Lookback period length
• Price type used (Close, High, Low)
• Minimum pip distance from support/resistance

Best suited for

Works well in sideways or range-bound markets

Less effective in breakout phases where levels are constantly broken
