PullbackContinuation

Concept

Not every good trend entry happens on the first breakout. PullbackContinuation is designed to enter after the market pauses, retraces into a faster average, and then resumes in the original trend direction.

Idea

The strategy first requires an existing trend. It then waits for price to touch or nearly touch a faster EMA during the pullback window. A signal only triggers when price breaks back through the prior candle structure in the original trend direction.

• Slow trend EMA period
• Trend lookback window
• Faster pullback EMA period
• Pullback lookback window
• Pullback touch tolerance in pips
• Breakout confirmation distance in pips
• Optional close confirmation

Best suited for

Strong, directional markets with orderly retracements

Less effective in noisy chop where pullbacks do not resolve cleanly
